This is my uptake of my second day at the Ommel 2019 sewing festival which included a fashion show, some serious fabric shopping and meeting people.
Ommel 2019 – The first day
Today was finally the long expected opening of the Ommel 2019 sewing festival here in my home city of Espoo. Together with over 50 volunteers, I spend a big part of Thursday building the festival: carrying stuff, threading sewing machines, hanging signs, whatever was needed to welcome the thousands of visitors that are expected to attend. However, the biggest work was already done by the wonderful board of the Ommel ry (registered association), lead by Jenni Salminen. The Ommel festival is held this weekend at Espoo. I will be there learning, shopping and meeting wonderful people. I'd be delighted to meet you!
My Empire dress
I sewed an Empire or Regency style dress using a pattern by Sense & Sensibility. Now, after completing my whole outfit I took part in a historical picnic.
