Askola silver necklace

I made a silver necklace!

My national costume needed a silver necklace. I thought about ordering it but heard that some people had made theirs. What could be more fun than learning yet another craft! So, I enrolled on a silversmithing course to make my silver necklace in the 19th-century Finnish folk style.

Here is my video:

I’m super happy with how this necklace turned out! I should probably still take it to a goldsmith’s for a bit of polish as the diamond pendants didn’t have enough time at the polishing drum and they are a bit dull compared to the engraved pieces that shine beautifully. When I went to get the pieces from the school, I even got to stamp them! Now I only need a nice red ribbon to tie this around my neck.

Thank you for reading and see you soon! Happy crafting!
