Summer dresses for me

I have been too busy to upload any of my finished projects for a while, so I decided to combine all the rest of the summer dresses I made this summer. The first one is my first Lekala dress, made with my measurements. The dress came out quite ok and I did not have to do many adjustments. However, I think that my choice of pattern could have been better. I don’t think that the dropped waist suits me very well, as I have a long back and short legs. Luckily adding a belt improves things

I have completely fallen in love with the book Sy! Urban Collection by Jenny Hellström. This is the Evelyn dress made with some thin cotton. I used the suggestions given in the book and lengthened the short sleeves and added the elastic at the waist. The patterned fabric and the real vintage buttons add some vintage feeling to the dress.

The last dress/tunic is from Yoshiko Tsukioris book Kauniit puserot ja mekot or Stylish Dress Book: Simple Smocks, Dresses and Tops. I had just a little amount of viscose fabric (about 1,5 m) and I had to take about 2 cm off from the width of the front and back pieces to match the pattern correctly. Luckily the tunic does not look too small at all. I particularly love the graphic print and the unusual combination of colors.

I am a mother of two. I sew, knit and create and blog about it.
