Colette Zinnia with Okistyle Tiim blouse.

My first Zinnia skirt and Tiim blouse

Colette patterns Zinnia is and old pattern but it seems to be loved by a lot of sewists online. I decided to try my version of a lightweight poly-viscose crepe I bought from The Splended Stitch. The colour of the fabric is nice rusty orange and the only drawback of it is that it creases quite easily.

Since sewing this skirt I have made a total of four Zinnias from different fabrics and with some adjustments so stay tuned!

Oki-style is perhaps a bit less known indie pattern brand but for anyone interested in more unusual garment designs this is a good place to visit. Thus far I have made three pieces using Oki-style patterns and I can recommend them.

Tiim blouse is undoubtedly one of the more traditional pieces. I made it using nice cotton lawn by Atelier Brunette that I got from the same place as the skirt fabric. This was my first time sewing a hidden button placket but the instructions were clear and I managed it nicely. Otherwise the blouse was a quite simple to sew together. I tend to hate sewing sleeve vents and cuffs so the simple sleeves were a bit of a relief for me.

This was the first time I tried to wear this skirt and the blouse together but I like the combination! See you later!

I am a mother of two. I sew, knit and create and blog about it.
