A wool coat for winter, part 3: Cutting and interfacing
My winter wool coat project is slowly progressing. This time I cut the fabric and add some very important interfacings to support the coat fronts.

The winter dark can be deadly, so I thought ways to make my own reflectors. I made these reflective rose brooches that can be pinned to my coat fronts.

Pattern fitting and the red ramie dress (Lekala S4103)
I challenged myself to make my friend a well fitting dress that she could wear both at work and at parties. Lekala S4103 was a good starting point.

In-house patterns Diana blouse in silk
I made a green silk Diana blouse by In-house patterns. Silk deserved French seams and slip-stitching by hand so that all the raw edges were hidden.

DIY flower vase from an upcycled light bulb – Kukkamaljakko hehkulampusta
I show how I turned an old light bulb in to a nice hanging flower vase. Askartelin vanhasta hehkulampusta kivan roikkuvan yhden kukan maljakon.

Ponilettiä (Ponybraids)

Rainbows and unicorns dress (Ottobre 1/2018 31. Viivat)
This jersey fabric by Shalmiak caught my daughter's attention at Ommel 2018 and she begged me to get it for her. It took some time to make the jersey into a dress but now finally my daughter has a dress she fancied.

Linen jersey Edie top
I found this linen jersey at the factory remnants. There was just enough to make a long sleeved top by combining Tessuti Mandy and SOI Edie top patterns.

A wool coat for winter, part 2: Toile
I did not even dream of making this V8346 coat without a toile. I may take risks with cheaper garments but this wool was way too expensive for me to skip this crucial step.

A wool coat for winter, part 1: Planning
My big project for this autumn will be a long and warm winter coat. For a project this size, it is a good idea to start with the planning.
