Tweedy Lizzie with a couture waistband
I sewed the Lizzie skirt by Sew Over It.To make matters more interesting I decided to learn how to make a couture waistband with a Petersham ribbon.
Sew Over It Kimono
I have the book Sew Over It vintage by Lisa Comfort and it has instructions on how to draft a Kimono dressing gown that I wanted to make.
Linen jersey Edie top
I found this linen jersey at the factory remnants. There was just enough to make a long sleeved top by combining Tessuti Mandy and SOI Edie top patterns.
Sew Over It Edie top and self-drafted jeans
I made the Evie top from the new Sew Over It Work to Weekend ebook. I also drafted a pair of jeans using my trusted trouser sloper and an old jeans pattern.
Kate dress by Sew Over It
I tested the Sew Over It Kate dress pattern. The hidden button placket and the 4 slits in the skirt bring this vintage inspired dress into the 21st century.
Penny at the seaside
The local fabric shop had lovely new floral viscose fabrics and I couldn’t resist this tropical fabric. I had just the perfect pattern for it on my Sensible Sewing Challenge list: The Sew Over It Penny Dress. This is now my favourite dress pattern having made two dresses and the blouse with it. (Btw. They just published this former pdf-only pattern as a printed pattern, so check it out if you hate cutting and pasting pdf-patterns together!) However, I do recommend not snipping the fabric underneath your arms that the instructions say. You can very easily sew the side seams and then hem the sleeves or do what I did…
Simplicity 3688: 1940s skirt
I tested the Simplicity 3688 1940s skirt pattern. This was an easy make and I love the outcome. The skirt looks nice when combined with the Sew Over It Pussy Bow Blouse that I have also made.
Sew Over It Penny dress
I made a beautiful Sew Over It Penny dress out of viscose crepe. The fabric was very difficult to work with but the result is one of my favourite makes this year.
Sew Over It Rosie skirt for the spring
I made a skirt version of the Sew Over It Rosie dress using a beautiful floral fabric. However, this make wasn't so successful. I ended up estimating my size wrong and then damaged the front of the skirt by ripping a thread with a sharp pin.
Sew Over It Betty dress
I tested the Sew Over It Betty dress pattern. I made a dress out of beautiful blue floral cotton poplin in size 10. I will definitely use this easy pattern again!
