Junebug dress as a nightie
Junebug dress pattern is a pattern for a dress and not a nightie. However, the colouring, the fabric choice and the vintage look makes it look more of a nightie to me.
Liikunnalliselle nuorelle neidille mekko-shortsihaalariyhdistelmä on yliveto.
Shirred dress in yellow
Some time ago S found a necklace at a local flea market and bought it. She showed me the picture of a brown haired girl on the pendant and she wanted a similar dress that was on the girl. I thought this gave me a perfect opportunity to practice my skills and make a shirred dress. This mustard yellow jersey knit has been in my stash for quite some time and the colour matched exactly. I, however, wanted something practical that S could wear over the summer. As I had learned how to shirr early this spring I decided to make a shirred dress with tied straps and a frilly hem.…
Goldfish circus costume
I was inspired by my daughters spring circus performance theme, "Underwater animals", to create her an unique gold fish circus costume. For once I could let my imagination run wild and this is what I came up with!
Introducing: the Pleated Skirt Calculator
I made a free Pleated Skirt Calculator that creates sewing patterns according to your wishes! I also made a tutorial for those that haven't sewn a garment like this before. Have fun with it!
Hazel skirt
This was a one quick project for my daughter. I found a small remnant piece of this lovely bright floral cotton and I immediately saw it as a spring skirt. I had the lovely Hazel skirt pattern that I used to make pinafores for my daughter and her friend. This time I decided to make just a skirt version. It did not take more than an hour to finish this make after the kids had gone to bed for the night! All the patterns were rectangles so they were quick to cut and sew together. Some gathering at the waist, an elastic band, a little topstitching to keep the elastic…
Sparkly cat tunic using Ottobre 1/2015 23. Peplum
Reversible sequin patches are in among little girls these days. We went hunting for nice tops among the high street shops but couldn't find anything in S's size. So I promised to make her some myself. The Ottobre 1/2015 23. Peplum was a good pattern to use as a base.
Violette Field Threads Hazel pinafore
I made my daughter S and her friend E matching Hazel pinafores using the pattern by Violette Field Threads. This is a skirt pattern with lots of options to add a pinafore, an apron or different decorations in the form of ruffles and bows.
Raindrop winter dress (Ottobre 04/2017 12.)
I had bought this nice knit fabric with colourful raindrop pattern to make something for my daughter. I chose the Shy Bear dress pattern from Ottobre 04/2017 that I like a lot.
Drafting and sewing a sports outfit
I designed this sports outfit for my 7-year-old daughter who is into circus and break dancing. My daughter chose the pink fabric with the flame pattern and I added some black jersey to make the outfit less restless. I am super happy with this unique outfit that I drafted from the scratch!
