Baby quilt – my first ever quilting job
I made my first ever quilt using cottons from my fabric stash. I found the inspiration for the pattern in the Love Sewing magazine, issue 47 although I did end up arranging the blocks in a different way. This will be a great baby quilt for my nephew/niece!
Winter street dress
Somebody pointed out the Winter Street Dress pattern for me when I was compiling my list of pattern companies. I was vaguely aware of the fact that PatternReview.com had some exclusive patterns but I had never tried any of them. This dress was something I have been looking for a while. I had this black jersey crepe fabric that would make a great little black dress. (I don’t know any other name for this fabric. It looks like a crepe from the outside, but jersey from the inside and it is very stretchy and comfortable.) I thought this would be a quick project but I stumbled into many fitting issues.…

The beginning of the New Year is a good time for reflection. I have been spending a lot of time thinking about what I do and why I do it. From these thoughts arose these 10 questions. As the year begins to close I look back to all the things I have sewn and the wonderful projects I have seen online. I can't even count the number of garments I have made, but some of them have been more successful than others. Here is my collection of 10 sewing patterns that have really caught my attention this year.
Red pussy bow blouse from Lekala 4420
This time I made a red floral viscose blouse using my modified Lekala 4420 pattern. I modified the pattern further by adding a red chiffon pussy bow collar.
Red Moneta dress by Coletta patterns
I think that this red Moneta dress is one of my most favourite makes for this year! I am wearing it right now and it is super comfortable but still cute and the colour brightens my day.
Winter Moneta dress by Colette patterns
I have made my second Moneta dress using the popular Colette pattern. I used navy viscose jersey and made one size bigger than the last time which improved the fit. My coverstitch machine now works and made the project much more fun.
I am patterns Sirius
I am patterns have quite unique style that is both modern, graphic and still very wearable. I decided to try the Sirius top that has an unusual pleated back detail.

I made my son a young gentleman's party outfit that consists of a pair of trousers, a vest and a stylish shirt.
From wide trousers to narrow stretch ones – pattern modification
Now that I have the trouser sloper I will turn it into a narrow pair of stretch cotton trousers. I show how to modify the width and how to remove the extra fullness of fabric at the back of the thighs.
